ART OMI

젋고 배고픈 예술가와 작가들에게, 최대 3달간 업스테이트 뉴욕의 초원에서 마음껏 먹고 쉬고 자연과 함께 하며 다른 예술가들과 교류하며 요리사가 차려주는 밥을 먹고 오로지 자신만의 독방에서 자유롭게 작품 활동에만 매진할 수 있는 예술가들을 위한 천국 아트 오마이를 소개합니다. 

2009년에 미란다 줄라이 소설의 번역가 자격으로 참여했던 저는 앞으로 더욱 많은 가능성 있는 젊은 예술가들이 이곳에 와서 영감과 재능을 펼치고 더 넓은 예술 세계로 나아가는 계기로 삼았으면 하는 마음에, 한국 이사가 되었습니다. 

전세계에서 온 다양한 문화적 역사적 배경을 지닌 작가-역자들과 소통하며 교류할 수 있는 시간 혹은 혼자 몰입할 시간과 공간을 필요로 하는 작가와 번역가 분들의 많은 지원 및 문의 바랍니다.

Art Omi gives you excellent foods prepared by cooks, a private room for up to 2 months in Upstate New York and opportunities to get connected with fellow artists from all over the world. 

As an alumni, I became the board member of Art Omi for translators and writers’ residence program in 2021 for the purpose of getting more Korean applicants for the program and working in-between any Korean literature related entities or organizations. 

We invite writers and translators from all over the world to join us, whether you need time and space to interact with other writers and translators from different cultural and historical backgrounds, or time and space to work alone.
